Founder, Principal Consultant and Grant Writer
Lydia Hansen is the Principal Consultant at GEM Business Consult. She supports various SMEs, Social Enterprises and NGOs in grant research, prospecting, grant writing, funding strategy, business plan and pitch deck development.
Lydia has previously worked in finance and banking with hundreds of Social Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners. As a result, she thoroughly understands what it takes to build a business, write a business plan, pitch and get approved for business and project financing. In addition, Lydia has over half a decade of experience helping organisations and individuals raise funds.
Furthermore, she worked on different health projects, including project planning and management, healthcare innovation projects and health prevention and promotion.
She has a BA in Economics and Sociology from Makerere University and an MBA from Eastern and Southern African Management Institute. A Master of Science in Public Health from Lund University and a Master of Science in Health care Innovation from Copenhagen Business school. In addition, she is a certified grant writer.
Lydia is passionate about fundraising, health promotion and prevention, innovation, breaking the cycles of poverty and addressing challenges faced in Africa.
Business Consultant and Grant Writer
Nazanin Eftekhari serves as a Business Consultant and Grant Writer at GEM Business Consult. She supports a diverse set of SMEs and Social Enterprises in developing business plans, pitches, business cases, business models, and strategies. She also works on preparing proposals for funding and grant applications, market research, and competitor and customer analysis.
Nazanin has previously worked as a university lecturer, Innovation and Business Analyst, Research Assistant and Grant Writer, supporting different organisations in their growth journeys.
Nazanin holds a Master of Science Industrial Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), a Master of Science, Innovation and Business from the University of Southern Denmark and a PhD in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management from Aalborg University.

Pamela is an associate consultant and grant writer who provides support in project management, grant writing, prospect research, and database administration.
With over five years of experience at a Ugandan-based NGO, Pamela brings a unique perspective enriched by her design, psychology and sociology background. Her creative and inspired approach to her work in the non-profit landscape is a valuable asset to our team.
Based in Germany, Pamela's deep understanding of the culture and her proficiency in the language make her the ideal candidate to lead our fundraising efforts in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Luxembourg.
Jane Frances is a freelance expert in resource mobilisation, development planning, institutional and organisational growth and development. Her role is crucial in supporting our clients with various services, including strategic planning, resource mobilisation, project planning, coaching, and capacity-building training. This diverse skill set ensures the success of our clients' projects.
When she is not working on our client projects, she works on legal and social research, policy formulation, programme development, and strategy design on a national scale. She also works with Government and Non-Governmental Organisations in the field of Formal, Informal and Transitional Justice in Uganda.
She holds a Masters in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology (MACADS) from Leiden University, Netherlands, a Masters in Social Sector Planning and Management (MASSPM) from Makerere University, Uganda, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Literature from Makerere University in Uganda, a diploma in Education of Kyambogo University in Uganda, and a merit in Organisation Development practice.
Based in Uganda, with a deep understanding of critical African societal problems, challenges, needs and closely working in policy formulation and development for over 20 years, she is best placed to support organisation capacity building and developing and implementing projects that break the cycles of poverty and address challenges faced in Africa.
